Oh the dog days of our Youth

I just finished reading JT's blog where he was talking about our teenage exploits.. I had commented on his blog that we probably look to an outsider as drunken losers cause that's really all we did from 86 through 89.. I had a lot of fun so I don't regret most of it.. But I have probably forgotten a lot of the details, which is not necessarily a bad thing. Probably a defense mechanism for blocking memories in which I made an ass of myself.. lol One thing about JT, he has a razor sharp memory, and will never let me forget these indiscretions of my youth. God love ya JT, I REALLY DO enjoy hearing about how funny it was when I almost smoked a pen.. Even 17 years after it happened.. I swear it will never get old.. Can you see the sarcasm dripping off that last statement JT? lol

I think we should write our memoirs focusing on all the exploits of the 'Whore' as you so lovingly called her. We could have a chapter on Hairy Holly, Dirtnut, and lets not forget Darius.. Oh can't forget Wayne(can't remember his code name, But I don't think he can read so I think we are ok.), the next 14 chapters can focus on the hundreds of men that the 'whore' bedded (although in most cases a bed wasn't used lol) while we knew her.. Then we can focus on how we made it out relatively unscathed and went on to be contributing members of society. We were the lucky ones my friend.. lol.

Update on the dentist. Went pretty well, except after I got there they had to send the crown back to the lab to be put backin the oven.. What the hell is that about. ? Anyways I had to wait at the dentist for 45 minutes whilst my tooth baked. After that it took him 5 minutes to glue er in and I was on my way. I am really surprised that it doesn't hurt today, the tooth fits good isn't bugging me.. Maybe all this dental hell is finally over with.

Jt to answer Delilia's question about whether I thought the scene from the L word with Bette floating in the water was stupid. I would have to say yes. I think it was just sort supposed to be symbolic of her feeling helpless not being able to breathe or something instead of an actual suicide attempt. I tried not to let it bug me too much. So does delilia watch the show regularly? If so you should send her the link to this blog so we can discuss the episodes. Always looking for someone talk about the show with.

thank god its only one more day till the 4 day weekend... Hallelujah !!. Oh that was a good segue< Here are the lyrics to the Song 'Hallelujah' by Cohen.. Though I prefer Rufas Wainwrights version myself. And after reading these lyrics only the first 2 verses are the same as Rufas' version but the last 3 are different.. that is weird.

Here is Rufus' version
Hallelujah - Rufus Wainwright
I've heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
It goes like this: the fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Your faith was strong, but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty in the moonlight overthrew you;
She tied you to a kitchen chair,
She broke your throne, she cut your hair,
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Maybe I've been here before
I know this room, I've walked this floor
I used to live alone before I knew you
I've seen your flag on the marble arch
Love is not a victory march
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

There was a time you let me know
What's real and going on below
But now you never show it to me, do you?
And remember when I moved in you,
The Holy Dark was moving too
And every breath we drew was Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Maybe there's a God above
And all I ever learned from love
Was how to shoot at someone who outdrew you;
It's not a cry you can hear at night
It's not somebody who's seen the light
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Here is Leonards version..
HALLELUJAH LYRICS
EDIT / RATE / PRINT
Now I’ve heard there was a secret chord
That david played, and it pleased the lord
But you don’t really care for music, do you?
It goes like this
The fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
The baffled king composing hallelujah

Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah

Your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew her
She tied you
To a kitchen chair
She broke your throne, and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the hallelujah

Hallelujah, hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah
You say I took the name in vain
I don’t even know the name
But if I did, well really, what’s it to you?
There’s a blaze of light
In every word
It doesn’t matter which you heard
The holy or the broken hallelujah

Hallelujah, hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah

I did my best, it wasn’t much
I couldn’t feel, so I tried to touch
I’ve told the truth, I didn’t come to fool you
And even though
It all went wrong
I’ll stand before the lord of song
With nothing on my tongue but hallelujah

Hallelujah, hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah
Hallelujah

This is weird that Rufus would change the lyrics so much..

JT the mission if you choose to accept it is to dissect the song and let me know what you think they mean..

Well, I can't dissect it this time of night. However, I don't even know if I can really. You must check out the kd version - kazaa or limewire it or something. it's the cat's ass - oh man, I love her... LOVE HER..... you ever noticed that the celebrity lesbians would be the type to be our friends? Ellen, Ro, kd, and Missy? (not Portia though - sorry Ellen).
Hell, I'm no David Crosby, but I woulda stepped up for Missy and Julie had they asked. Well no, actually, you know I could never so that, since I am so compulsive about my children, but it woulda been a nice sentiment - me, drunk, on their veranda, slobbering "no, really, just ask, I'll do it" and then hiding from them until they call Crosby up again...
Have a rainbow day, sunshine!
