Fargin Wasps..... slight delay in tiling

Well my schedule for tiling got screwed up yesterday because of wasps.. the plan was that my friend Belinda was supposed to come over at around 10 am to help me tile. When she got here we had to go borrow my brother in laws truck to pick up a piece of plywood to reinforce the subfloor in my entranceway. we get back to my house and haul the wood to the side doorway and discover hostile wasps swarming around the step to my house. SO this kinda put a crimp in our plans since we would have to have this door open for a part of the tiling. So in an attempt (at my brother laws suggestion & because we couldn't bug bomb it till dusk) we decide to go postal on the wasps by hauling out the Rainbow vacuum b/c it has a water reseviour, we decided to suck them up and drown them. Belinda was the brave one who suited up in full combat gear to go place the vacuum in front of the step where they were all coming out.. it was hilarious (see pics above).
We did suck up probably 100 of them, but it probably didn't make a dent in the hive.. So later when Rochelle got home we went out and bought some wasp killer and sprayed the crap out of it last nite when they were sleeping.. Don't know if it worked I guess we will see today when we go out there.

SO anyways todays plan is to get the subfloor down and try to tile the area. Only have about 25 sq feet to do so I hope it doesn't take too long. then tomorrow god willing we will be able to grout it before the long weekend is over.. If its not done by then god knows when i will be able to finish it. I will be like those people on In a Fix who have a half done house for 6 mos... lol

well better get mobile and get this started.
Hope everyone is enjoying a nice long weekend.

Margo.

That's hilarious!!! Well, hilarious in a "look at Lucy and Ethel hunting for wasps" kind of way! What kind of wasp killer did you get? The stuff that shoots from three feet away is awesome! They are really dozy at this time of the year so it is so easy to get stung!
I can't wait to see pictures of the tiling! I want to re-do my front entryway, the tiles are 400 years old and the grout is all cracked up. We may just Lino it...

you should re tile it, you would have to rip up the old tile anyways. Its would be nice in the front entrance as well.
